There are a lot of cases of Sewage pollution into fields, water bodies, etc. This pollution is caused by select commercial establishments and even faulty STP plants. How difficult is it for the Environment Ministry and the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) to keep a check on this massive pollution, in such a small state of Goa? I suspect a lot of corruption is involved, with pollution control officials turning a blind eye to numerous complaints filed by Goans across Goa.
The Goa government markets thousands of crores for development but can't even take care of basics. Also recently, the Goa govt signed the Save the Soil plan, but allowing the release of sewage into areas including large parts of agricultural land is a classic example of the massive hypocrisy of the Goa government on its intention to "Save the Soil".
