Govt’s hasty move on academic year change ignores concerns

‘Govt to go ahead with April start to new academic year’ - The Goan Everyday - March 8, 2025. The issue of the beginning of a new academic year is an important and sensitive matter and needs to be given further thought. It seems unfair for the government to proceed with changing the start of the academic year from June to April despite reservations from certain quarters.  

They need to come to a consensus rather than impose any particular directive. The weather conditions, practicality, etc., need to be taken into account while making a decision. Agreed, all schools should have a common academic year, but is it the Central Board of Secondary Education that influences the decision?
