GSPCB sound pollution control gimmicks

It appears that the highly compromised (politically) and heavily bureaucratic (deliberately) Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) is all set for another round of a year-long gimmick at an approximate cost of 1.8 crore (minimum) to the stretched Goan taxpayer. This is for its so-called project for ‘noise mapping, hotspots identification, and mitigation measures’ to control noise pollution in Goa. I think it is common knowledge that in small Goa, the GSPCB’s (overstaffed) workforce can easily be available 24/7 to reach any part of Goa within a few hours (if not minutes) with a simple technology like a phone call. For instance, there have been numerous calls to business establishments in Colva (Salcette) clearly violating sound restrictions way beyond acceptable hours, but the GSPCB simply ignores complaints made via phone calls!
