It's unfortunate that news is going around in social media and rhetoric talks about erasing all living traces of Portuguese culture. All of the embedded culture prevailing in Goa from the foods we eat to architecture, churches, dressing of their style of clothes, mannerisms, habits etc are well rooted and have made an imprint on the integral part of our lives. It would bode well for alleged authority to take up all works pertaining to dilapidated infrastructure, irregular water and power supply, pot holed roads, drug proliferation, rapidly increasing crimes, safety and rape of women ,child molestations, etc in earnest and rectify all man made evils .What happened to CM's ambitious project of sending delegation to Portugal to get the history of all details of churches, temples, buildings, etc., perhaps it has bitten the dust. It will be a herculean task to undo and uproot this culture left behind. The Portuguese Civil Code is our biggest inheritance handed down, which will be difficult to eradicate and delete in law. This law is the envy of other States who are attempting to adopt the same.
