India lost its golden voice on February 6 when Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last at Breach candy hospital.
She has songs in various languages to her credit. Singing for almost 5 decades in superhit movies, she was also a cricket lover and had a liking for photography. One of her most memorable song "Yeh Mere Watan Ke Log" also touched the heart of late PM Jawaharlal Nehru.
Singing was her passion and she devoted herself to music from a very young age. She was also awarded Bharat Ratna in 2001 for her contribution in the field of music.
She was the daughter of late Dinanath Mangeshkar and Shevanti Mangeshkar who started her career singing in dramas at the tender age of 5.
Indian cinema and music lovers across the world will surely miss this Golden Voice’.
