Intimidation by Colva panchas

This is to bring to the notice of Colvenkars that there are at least two or three Colva panchas who intimidate or threaten people who complain about illegal activities in the village. This happens when (a) the concerned pancha is directly involved, or (b) the pancha, in an official capacity, supports or allows the illegal activity that has been exposed. A few months ago, a complainant even approached the Colva Police Station. However, the policewoman on duty avoided registering an FIR against the concerned Colva pancha. The main purpose of this message is to advise complainants that whenever there is an inspection related to any illegality in Colva, they should ensure that a video recording is done at the same time and shared publicly. Without this, these elected persons may freely intimidate or threaten complainants.
