The sudden resurgence of Khalistan movement fiercely across continents is intriguing. Is it an attempt to purposely discredit AAP government? It was in dormant state for long. Government has not been able to extradite Vijay Mallya, Lalit Modi, Niraj Modi from UK inspite of sustained legal and diplomatic moves and cordial relations with the government. Canada for some reason has not obliged to the process of extradition.The Sikh population is around 7.5 lakhs and elected representatives of the community are supporting the minority government. It is compulsive politics the world over and protection of interests. The sour relations between two nations have further fuelled the controversy. While Indian government can afford confrontational attitude, Indian citizens depending for their livehood in the host country are bound to face hostile atmosphere.
The motive for the assassination is germane for consideration. One wonders why attachment and confiscation of assets in India had to wait post assassination and after a diplomatic row. The question of standing among Nations will lead to ego clashes and situation will deteriorate to the disadvantage of common diaspora. There is no alternative to quiet diplomacy to resolve the differences.
