Large scale urbanization and sad tale of Taleigao

Taleigao recently was declared to be an urban area by a recent Goa Government notification.  It is certainly sad to note, that once a major agricultural village supplying fresh fruits/vegetables is now being officially declared as more of a “concrete” area.   It’s important to note that the concretization of Taleigao  is mostly the sad legacy  of just one political family, having various serious corruption/criminal cases against them and jumping from one party to another for their own agenda. The voterbank of this political family ( Goans and specially nurtured migrants votebanks ) are also complicit in the destruction of a once fully green and beautiful village ! Is this the way rest of Goa is being converted to? The corrupt Goa government does not seem to have any interest in maintaining the unique green and agricultural landscape of Goa but instead encouraging a concrete jungles everywhere.  Real estate destruction/development seems to be the only priority of the Goan politicians in power. Are we Goans okay with Goa government policies to encourage more urbanization or are we going to do something about it ?
