Law and order breaking down in Anjuna

It is troubling to see how the Michael Lobo political family is openly using government machinery in Anjuna for encroachments and demolitions without proper work orders or approvals. One wonders why this political family, which pushed its way into power, is acting in such a hurry. It seems likely that there are bigger real estate or business interests behind this, and the rewards may be so high that they are willing to risk the anger of the villagers as a small price to pay.

These demolitions go against court orders and could lead to serious legal consequences for everyone involved, including the local MLAs. This could be a strong opportunity for activists to take legal action and hold all those responsible to account.

This kind of arrogant and high-handed behaviour doesn’t seem limited to just the local MLAs”it appears to reflect a wider attitude in the Goa government. The people of Anjuna could do a great service to all Goans by standing up to this wrongdoing.
