Social activists who dare to raise their voices to protect our land, environment, and identity are being openly threatened, attacked with knives and guns, and harassed by goondas. These are not isolated incidents ” they reflect a growing pattern of lawlessness. What’s worse, visuals of gangsters celebrating birthdays alongside top political leaders, including from the ruling party, raise serious questions about the nexus between crime and politics. When criminals flaunt their power without fear, it is clear that the police force has either been compromised or silenced. True Goans ” Niz Goenkars ” are being arrested for standing up against injustice, while the real culprits roam free under political patronage. Meanwhile, tourists, the backbone of our economy, are being harassed by the taxi mafia, further tarnishing Goa’s image. Goa is no longer the peaceful, welcoming state it once was. If immediate action is not taken to restore the rule of law and protect the voices of concerned citizens, we risk losing the very soul of our beautiful state.
