Laws against sexual violence must be strictly implemented

Sexual violence against women in schools, at work place, on streets, in public transport  or in confines of homes continues unabated. There is outrage but then the story is forgotten by repeat of another. The laws, recommendations  need immediate, time bound implementation. Work places have ineffective  standing committees on sexual harassment. The commissions  for women in every state must be proactive not tied to apron strings of politicians for appointments. The overwhelming  shortage of law enforcers, judicial officers is a crying need to be addressed on priority. Only high profile cases in cities and towns get reported. The juveniles who commit heinous crimes need no exclusion. Death sentence in Nirbhaya case has not decreased sensational crimes, including against defenseless toddlers, minors. Sexual convicts get  frequent paroles. Women's emancipation, education, employment, lifestyles, defenselessness have made them vulnerable. The legal system is too much concerned about  justice to  offenders  rather than silent  victims of inhuman torture.
