In the suo motu PIL over illegal structures in the state of Goa, the High Court has slammed village panchayats for failing to file compliance reports, the HC has directed an inquiry and appropriate disciplinary action under service rules against the panchayat secretaries for dereliction of duties due to failing to file compliance reports as directed by the High Court on March 6, 2025. My suggestion to the honourable Court is to also make the Panchayat minister responsible (party to the failure!) as clearly this contempt of court directions could not have happened unless the respective minister had also ignored the same court order and the needlessly mentioned panchayat secretaries come under his ministerial authority.
