Migration has been happening for many years and will continue to happen! However, what is happening in Goa is certainly very alarming in terms of the number of people/families migrating out of Goa and this, I have found is not only by Goans desperately looking for jobs but also by Goans well off in Goa and Goans who have done well for themselves in the Gulf Countries. I hope Goans realize the long-time very serious consequences to Goa and its identity of their respective action to migrate. Today most economic predictions forecast the eastern nations to start taking away top spots from western countries in terms of economic rankings; and India will be amongst the Top 2 global economies by 2050. The only issue I personally see, is the threat of global warming which can change these forecasts. I suggest Goans to relook at their plans to permanently migrate out of Goa and with that cutting off links, selling prized assets/ancestral properties etc and giving away political rights. And also to look back at Goa at possible opportunities of investment/business/collaboration and giving back to Goa.
