This is with reference to the article "Ways to use rain water for your garden - Anwesha Barari - The Goan Everyday July 5, 2023." Anwesha Barari has certainly offered some useful tips for using rain water for our gardens. Monsoons are God's gift to us and we must revere this gift; it is the gift of life! But, indifferent that we are, we refuse to take useful life saving advice, to our own peril. For instance, there is always going to be shortage of water in our country, as such we are dependent on the rains to a large extent, for fulfilling our various needs. This is the time for rain harvesting instead of letting the rain water go to waste, into the gutters. We need to let the rain water seep into the ground but man in his wisdom is blocking that seepage by his mindless concretisation of land. During the summer months one will find so much of water from the ACs flowing down onto the concreted society compounds, into the gutters. Can we not save this water for our daily use? Some food for thought!
