MLAs should provide ambulance to p’yats

Village panchayats play a vital role in the welfare of the local population. Availability of necessary facilities at the panchayats would ultimately help the people in leading a happy and contented life.

Recently, Ports Minister Michael Lobo while speaking at Pilerne-Marra panchayat stated that every VP must possess an ambulance and hearse van so that it helps the needy people at the concerned villages.

In such a case, receiving emergency healthcare becomes much easier and patients falling seriously ill can avail the benefit in transporting them to a nearby hospital at the earliest.

As a matter of fact, during the Covid pandemic, private ambulances and hearse vans charged higher rates for the general public. During such occasions, the local VP can be of great use for the needy patients.

In case the panchayats own an ambulance, it can definitely help the needy persons in times of emergency. It is necessary for the local MLAs at the respective jurisdictions to follow up this matter and see to it that the VPs are provided with a ambulance on priority basis.

No doubt, welfare of the masses should reign supreme at all costs.
