Murders of Siolim sisters: Is goondaraj prevailing in the State?

Gaoenkars are mourning the tragic death of two sisters from Siolim best remembered as altar flower decorators of St Anthony's Church. The alleged murder has sent shivers down the spines of every Goenkar. How could such a dastardly and heinous crime be committed by the alleged killer for Rs 30,000.

A few weeks ago a resident of Porvorim was set ablaze. Is our state turning into a Goondraj? Has life become so cheap like discarding an outdated mobile phone? My sincere sympathies with the bereaved family members and may god bless the young little children. The aunties did what best they could do but did not deserve such a tragic end.

Could the incident be avoided? Yes. Had a few complaints made to the police taken seriously such a incident would have never occurred. The two sisters were senior citizens and the beat police should have sensed some trouble. The law enforcers have a bigger role to play than the family members or neighbours in such a situation.

I hope the community policing will help in making our neighbourhood live like a family. May their soul rest in peace.

So far only the groundwater was unpolluted as one had to sink costly borewells to get to the same. This groundwater has now been polluted: can you purify the entire table?…
