It was interesting to read about NGT pulling up the GCZMA and warning the Member Secretary of jail and salary stoppage.
Though the latter was with regards to an illegal hotel in Calangute, I have been following certain cases in South Goa and am certain that the GCZMA is a hotbed of corruption and is encouraging so many illegalities in Goa.
Salary stoppage might not be a deterrent considering the large sums of money a corrupt GCZMA member could make, but certainly long jail sentences could help.
I hope to see GCZMA members being jailed soon and this will be a big step towards preserving Goa.
