No action from govt against beef vigilantes

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant while speaking to media persons the other day over the ongoing beef crisis/strike issue in the state has said that his government is committed to providing hygienic meat to consumers via the Goa Meat Complex but has not promised any action or giving any police protection to all the beef vendors/suppliers despite knowing the fact that Christians are all set to celebrate Christmas on December 25. Well, CM Sawant should first tell as to what action his government will henceforth take against all beef vigilantes instead of distracting Goans by talking about beef hygiene in Goa. Because by now most Goans know  who's government is really behind this whole beef drama in Goa. I therefore personally feel that as long as we don't dump parties promoting rabid communalism, we Goans can never ever expect to celebrate our respective festivals in peace and harmony in the near future in Goa.

Prevention is better than cure. Police must be able to enforce law and order and nobody should feel the need or dare to take things into their own hands! But we have vigilantes, party strong men, NGOs, religious policing, etc doing so with impunity. This would not be possible without state patronage or police incompetence.
