This is with reference to the report, "GCZMA AT SEA OVER CRZ VIOLATIONS - The Goan Everyday - June 13, 2024." CRZ regulations have been framed all across the country with a view to protect both Nature as well as humankind. But man in his wisdom, seems to disregard all such regulations and is resorting to unfair means for his own benefit. This is evident from this news report. The notable point in this news report is, ‘the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) appears to be working only on the basis of complaints against illegal structures’. This is similar to the authorities in Mumbai asking citizens to identity potholes and upload pictures. The question is, what are the authorities doing, as part of their job, to prevent or take immediate action against illegal constructions or repair the potholes without waiting for complaints from the public?
