Stop mega projects that will destroy our villages

This is with reference to the recent protests/objection to a proposed mega project in Chandor.  I recall that the opposition to these mega housing projects go back to approx 20 years when the Congress was in power for a while but did nothing to address the menace. The latter  was one reason why the Congress Party lost confidence with many Goans i.e. on their reluctance to save Goa from these destructive real estate projects that cater mostly to clients from outside Goa.  BJP has taken this real estate destruction to an even worse level. The current Goa CM and TCP Minister has taken land conversion of green to brown/concrete to even higher levels; with massive destruction of hills, water bodies, fields and the environment in general. My point now is for the Congress Party to start redeeming itself and start addressing things like the mega projects which threaten Goa's identity/demographics, villages, environment, fields, trees etc. The Congress should on a war footing start demanding issues like these be addressed to preserve Goa and promise to  address the same themselves should they come to power.
