Judging from various reports, the fear of the pandemic continuing to rule our lives seems imminent. The fear of getting infected by the new variant called Omicron, looms large.
However, there seems to be no clarity or uniformity in the views expressed by various medical experts with regard to the new variants which have been surfacing in recent times.
Earlier there was the fear about the Delta which seems to have faded away. Just when we have begun to open up, commercial activity coming back to normal, religious places have opened, schools are in the process of reopening.
And now, we have the Omicron which some say, is ten times more dangerous than other variants. Medical experts clearly seem divided at to what exactly the new variants can do.
At the end of the day, the general public are thoroughly confused. Many are filled with fear while others just go about their lives, without wearing a mask or following basic Covid guidelines, as if nothing is going to happen.
