The amount of money the BJP Goa government has spent on 2 inaugurations of the Zuari Bridge in Goa is really outrageous. In all my time abroad, I have also seen progressive and richer nations also setting up some major projects including bridges but in those countries I never saw such shameful and extravagant spends on marketing the openings of these projects versus India; where so many go hungry to sleep and lack proper access to basics like water. Goa govt can’t spend money on basics: garbage bins on beaches, clean benches, proper parks for citizens/children, clean creeks, properly marked roads, cleanliness, proper bus stops, efficient/clean/regular mass public transportation including tourist areas like Colva (direct buses), clean/regular water supply for all etc but on the other hand is very enthusiastic about such wastage of scarce funds paid by the burdened taxpayer.
