On August 5, 2023, a local court in Islamabad found former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, guilty in the Toshakhana case and arrested him from his residence in Zaman Park, sending him to prison. Once an undisputed king of the cricket world and later the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran now faces numerous difficulties in prison. The current government is ensuring that Imran remains in prison for as long as possible. Despite being acquitted of three charges, he is repeatedly entangled in various minor cases to keep him behind bars, as his release could pose a challenge to the government. Imran has gained public sympathy, and if released, he might demand mid-term elections. Despite his Tehreek-e-Insaf party winning 92 seats, they were kept away from power, and the party's election symbol was frozen. Imran Khan, who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, is confined to a small 7x8-foot cell, leaving him barely able to move. Under 24-hour surveillance by intelligence agencies and with no permission to meet anyone, he has stated that he is being treated like a terrorist and that the government's plan is to eliminate him in prison.
