I urge the cybercrime department to investigate how these fraudsters obtain student details. It's crucial to protect data on government websites, as any leaks or hacks could have severe consequences.
The Goa Board and Education Department, along with higher secondary schools, collect student data for online admissions. This data must be safeguarded with appropriate measures.
In the interim, parents need to be educated on handling such fake calls, especially as higher secondary students are now traveling longer distances to school.
Additionally, schools should reconsider the policy of not allowing students to carry mobiles, which prevents parents from contacting their children during emergencies.
