Apropos to the ineffective solution to the longstanding problem of road flooding at Paroda, particularly the section from the Immaculate Conception Church to the junction leading to Shri Chandreshwar Temple.
Recently, the government allocated funds to raise the road level at two points and constructed culverts to allow river water to flow beneath the road surface at these raised sites. However, this measure has proven to be a significant failure, as the road continues to flood due to the Kushavati River during heavy rainfall.
This situation highlights the poor planning by the authorities, who appear to approve public projects without proper consideration or common sense. Any local resident would understand that raising the road level at only two locations would not resolve the overall flooding issue.
I urge the authorities, particularly the PWD roads section engineers, to visit the site during flooding to determine the appropriate solution to prevent the flooding of the Quepem to Margao road at Paroda.
