Patient’s ambulance death unfortunate

It is was unfortunate to see a patient being taken to a hospital losing his life when the ambulance ferrying him met with an accident on Thursday. The drivers of ambulances are left with no choice but to drive fast on our chaotic roads to save lives. Not only in Goa, but throughout the country we see people have scant regard for emergencies or human lives. Many a time we read ambulances getting stuck in traffic as a result patients don’t make it to the hospital on time. Also, our roads are narrow and to compound this, they are full of potholes. To some extent, the government too is to be blamed for this accident. It is the duty of the government to enforce the law and deal with people who do not allow ambulances to pass with ease. In other countries, life is more precious but here we take things for granted. It is time, motorists realise that an ambulance siren is calling out to them to save someone’s life. Hope the Health Minister and the Chief Minister wake up after this incident.
