Over the last year the current pandemic has unleashed havoc. Besides being a health agony, it has financially wrecked and distressed many. The government’s rosy and fanciful promises have all been just on paper. The ground reality is so distraughtting.
The common man has realized the deceptive game plan of those in power and no wonder there is an increasing people’s trust deficit in those they have elected.
While the Goa Government is squandering crores of rupees on State sponsored festivals and festivities, the common man is facing the brunt of rising prices in anything and everything. They have not been spared to even further burden the litigants in the Courts.
In the District and Lower Courts while a Court fee of Rs two had to be affixed for any application, this has now been steeply hiked to Rs twenty which is an increase by ten times and in terms of percentage it is an increase by 1000%.
On bail bonds and surety forms while earlier it was also a Court fee of Rs two it has been now suddenly hiked to Rs fifty on each which is an increase by 25 times and in terms of percentage a raise of 2500%.
The politicians in power do not have to cope and grapple with inflation and rising prices. For them from fuel to housing and food it’s all on the house at the cost of bleeding the State exchequer.
