Politicians must take first jab to boost people’s confidence

With the approval of Covaxin and Covishield and the ongoing dry run across the States, people across the spectrum are waiting with bated breath for the last mile immunity from shackles of the deadly Covid virus and its mutated strains.

The approved vaccines are ideally suited for the country's climatic conditions obviating the need for storage in cryogenic temperatures.

With priorities set for health workers, older people and vulnerable groups, there are skeptics who are averse to being vaccinated in the first phase of the roll out as the drug companies are shedding their liability for any side effects.

There has been a video live-streamed on social media where a nurse after taking the vaccine during the interview collapsed and died. There are also reports doing the rounds that the vaccines can  interfere with the DNA structure of the human cell and last but not the least, the political standoff.

Our 'netas'  waxing eloquent on the efficacy of vaccines for mass immunization should lead by example by taking the first jab to boost public confidence as was done in the US.
