Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has advised Goans on Independence Day to take a pledge not to fall prey to any attempts aimed at disturbing the aged-old amity in the State .
Now what does he really mean by that statement? That we Goans should not dare to ask any further questions for all the trouble-makers belonging to right wing organisations but should casually allow them to promote their own communal agendas/illegalities just because they have the habit of flexing their muscles and threatening those questioning them by filling their own FIRs at different police stations in Goa? Well, as far as I know, Goans have lived and will always live in communal harmony in the State but will never fight amongst themselves on silly issues of statues and religion even in the near future.
I therefore think that our politicians should go to take the above pledge more than anyone else because it is they who are always heard issuing their own senseless statements through the media to instigate people in the State and are also seen personally backing/protecting those who are currently desperately trying to divide Goans on religious lines for their own long-term political survival in Goa.
