Before elections, everyone is eager to join the Congress party, attracted by its legacy and symbol. However, the sad reality is that once these elected MLAs win on a Congress ticket, they often defect to the BJP, claiming it is for the sake of development. The truth, however, is that their real motivation is greed for money and power, which ultimately hurts both the Congress party and the voters who trusted them. Churchill said he would join Congress if given a chance, but if not, he plans to join another party or even form his own independent outfit just to stay in power. This kind of opportunistic politics must end. It is time for the older generation of politicians to step aside and make way for new faces who are ready to tackle today’s challenges with fresh ideas and energy. To all the veteran politicians, politics will not come to a halt without you. Voters deserve stability and honesty, not political opportunism. Those who betray their mandate should learn that doors will close on them eventually, and they will face consequences for their actions.
