At the village of Adpai in Ponda roads are too narrow even as owners park their cars along roadside with great ease.
Such a tendency hinders smooth movement of vehicular traffic. Whenever four-wheeler vehicles proceed in opposite directions, the situation worsens to a great extent, especially at sharp turns.
Under such circumstances, it is also a waste of time. Over the years such a situation continues, with the local village panchayat viz the VP of Adpai-Durbhat remaining silent on this matter.
In fact there is enough space for parking vehicles behind the Goa State Cooperative Bank Ltd and also behind Shree Datta Mandap (both at Adpai).
Still residents prefer to park their vehicles along the existing narrow road. It is time the local MLA Sudin Dhavalikar takes not of this seriously and instructs this VP accordingly.
Roadside parking should be prohibited at all costs and defaulters in this regard should be penalised. Unless this initiative is undertaken, situation is bound to worsen further in days to come.
Let us hope that prompt favourable action would follow in this important matter in assuring smooth flow of vehicular traffic.
