Provide subsidised gas cylinders

It is rather disturbing to note that the price of domestic gas cylinder is being hiked from time to time. Of late the price has been hiked to Rs 708 per cylinder. Under such circumstances, a common man has to confront with great difficulties in procuring this major item of day-to-day use.

As a matter of fact, many people have lost their jobs due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic. While meeting the basic needs of family members amidst financial difficulties, rise in prices of cylinder would act as a additional burden to most of the families.

The festival of Christmas is round the corner and many people would require gas cylinders for preparing food, cookies and other delicacies. Buying cylinders at a higher price would ultimately raise the hardships of consumers. In order to reduce the burden on a common man, it would be worth for the state government to provide the much needed gas cylinder at a subsidised rate at the earliest.
