PWD’s jetpatcher machines a game changer for potholes

It is a known fact that it is neither possible to repair pot-holes nor hot-mix the roads during the rainy season. However most of the pot-holes appear during the rainy season due to heavy showers.

Citizens are thus put to great inconvenience till the monsoon season comes to an end and the roads are repaired. However all this could be a thing of the past.

PWD minister Nilesh Cabral has reportedly said that the state government has granted cabinet approval to hire two Jetpatcher machines in order to repair potholes during the monsoon.

It is learnt that the PWD will develop a mobile app so that people can click pictures of potholes, which will go to the contractor and the potholes will be repaired within 98 hours.

It is pertinent to note that most of the accidents during the monsoon season take place due to potholed roads. If these potholes can be repaired during the rainy season then vehicular drivers can heave a sigh of relief.

If the experiment with the Jetpatcher is a success, then it could be the first step towards making Goa a 100% pothole-free state.
