On Tuesday early morning, a plane of Qatar Airways was asked to land at Dabolim Airport instead of the new Mopa Airport. The diversion was due to bad weather conditions at Mopa Airport. The aeroplane, carrying 131 passengers, safely landed at Dabolim, and all the yellow-black taxi operators were taken by surprise but were also happy to receive them.
The long debate about having two airports in Goa has answered the question, and Dabolim is necessary for safety and passenger convenience. When passengers were asked about the change in schedule, it was found that they were happy and also received good taxi services at the airport. If South Goa’s Dabolim Airport had not been operational, the flight would have been delayed in landing, with the next option being Mumbai Airport, which would have been inconvenient for passengers. It was a win-win situation for both taxi operators and passengers. Sometimes, nature also supports mankind.
