The Swachh Bharat was a mission to make people more responsible towards their surroundings and make them take charge of the cleanliness around them. Goa is a tourism state and the tourists from various parts of India and foreign countries visit the state for holidays, conferences, entertainment, etc but the roadside garbage menace is destroying our health, safety, environment and reputation of Goa. The municipality and village panchayat are doing their job well to collect the garbage from the bins and from houses in their areas. I don't understand why in our country people act selfish and have a careless behaviour? They only care about themselves, their houses and surrounding area to remain clean and throw the garbage on the roadside, polluting the water bodies, towns, villages and cities. The main thing is we should create awareness, plead to people not to litter the roads and throw the garbage in a bin in our own house and in our respective wards. Let's show to the world that Indians are well behaved people. In my village the GBE group is doing a great job of cleaning the village. Looks like the government is not so serious to ban the plastic bags in the state which are handed openly without any fear. Why are the authorities not working on ground reality to stop the supply of plastic bags which are destroying mother earth. The government should bring permanent solutions to solve the issue forever.
