Refrain from drawing hasty conclusions on accidents

This is with reference to the letter titled ‘Man needs to tame himself and prevent fatal crashes’ in 'The Inbox', The Goan Everyday, September 6, 2023.  The content discussed the tragic road accidents at Banastarim and Porvorim, which resulted in the loss of six lives. It stated, "…as all these accidents have occurred past midnight, there can be no doubt whatsoever, that the primary cause and perpetrator is alcohol." However, it is important to note that the front page article of the same issue reported that the authorities confirmed no presence of alcohol in the forensic tests conducted on the victims of the Porvorim accident. Therefore, it is imperative not to hastily draw conclusions before comprehensive forensic examinations are carried out and refrain from making statements that could tarnish the reputation of the victims.

Redevelopment of old Panaji buildings needed
