Roads at different locations in the state are being dug for laying cables of different types. However, once the work is completed, the dug portion of the road is not covered properly. As a result, vehicular traffic faces great risk and danger. Two-wheeler riders are likely to get involved in a mishap. Recently, in one such instance near the circle in the vicinity of the main bus stop at Farmagudi in Ponda, a trench is proving to be dangerous for two-wheeler riders. Precious human lives must be assured safety on a permanent basis. Hence it is the need of the hour for the authorities concerned to cover the dug portions of roads promptly once a proposed work is completed in all respects. Let us hope that the authorities take note of this important matter in public interest.
