This is with reference to the report, "Doctors warn India is on brink of health crisis - The Goan Everyday - August 26, 2025." There is no doubt that India is indeed, already facing a health crisis. Yes, non-communicable diseases like diabetes, heart disease and cancer are silent killers.This is evident from the number of deaths all around us, especially young people just collapsing while eating, or at the gym or playing or even just relaxing. The group of Padma awardee doctors are right, the situation is serious. Take the cost of medicines for instance, prices have been spiralling in recent times. On the other hand, several apps have surfaced claiming that almost all medicines are generic medicines manufactured by local manufacturers while big companies purchase them and re-brand them as their own. These apps claim that they can provide generic medicines with savings of up to 50 - 60 per cent. One only hopes regulatory guidelines are being followed or else one fine day it will explode as a big scam.
