Select people from judiciary or Army for Speaker's post

Speaker Rajesh Patnekar committed the murder of democracy by rejecting the petitions of Girish Chodankar (Cong) and Sudin Dhavalikar (MGP), even before the Supreme Court judgement on Congress defectors coming in. The Apex Court in its earlier judgement had said that the Speaker's decision is not final decision, which can be challenged in High Court or Supreme Court.

Since 1990, Goa has seen 13 chief ministers. Political defections too often and partisan decisions of the Speakers have brought democracy down on its knees. People elect their representatives for development, but representatives get busy in self-development.

Flouting the Anti-defection laws is common in Goa. Therefore, selection of a neutral person either from the judiciary or the Armed Forces for the post of the Speaker is the need of the day.

Speakers have in the past gone against the prescribed norms in adjucationg cases of defections.

We are paying for electing illiterate people who have neither read nor know the Constitution of India.
