Shameful that even jails lack law and order

The common man and activists have been speaking about the collapse of law and order in the State. The police has been a mere spectator or maybe part of the system of 'sab kucch chalta hai Goa mein.'  They wear the khaki uniform only to take orders from the ministers in power as long as the fat salary and other commissions, bribes also flow into their pockets. The brutal attack on activist Rama Kankonkar from ST community has shown these type of attackers have no fear of the law or police.  The Colvale reformer jail is in the news again with drugs, mobiles and anything is available as most inmates are having influence with some one or the other in power. The brutal attack of one inmate only confirms that the law and order is not prevalent even in the jail. The attackers don't fear even police force around or CCTV cameras. Shameful but should we be proud that it's happening under a double engine government and in a state that promotes tourism not for good tourists but people who can have the law at their disposal. Are we the number one state with 100% state protection for those who can silence the people's voices?
