Stadium deaths were due to lack of crowd management

After the temple stampede at Goa Lairai temple zatra, it's now seen at a cricket stadium. On Tuesday RCB won IPL against Punjab and cricket fans flocked at the stadium in large numbers. The stadium is know to have a capacity of 35,000 and crowd of around lakhs tried to enter the stadium. The security lapse and unexpected crowd lead to the loss of 11 fans. The Karnataka chief minister ordered magisterial enquiry and declared compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of those who lost their lives.  The BCCI says the same was not organised by them as same happened after the match and during victory celebration of RCB team inside stadium. The reason behind the said stampede is given as unexpected crowd, but when the matches are held it's natural that crowd will gather and care should be taken in terms of crowd management. Every event where thousands gather should prepare for the worst without harbouring a mindset that nothing will happen. It's time to come out with clear security arrangements during temple functions or games where crowd turnout is unexpected.
