Tauktae: Tough job at hand for linesmen

Goa is floored by cyclone Tauktae and a trail of destruction has been left behind. Over 500 trees have been uprooted across the state and so also electricity poles.

The electricity department, especially linesmen and fieldworkers have a tough task at hand in restoring the distribution lines which includes re-laying the cables. Goans, instead of cursing the department must spare a thought to the employees who have to endure a tough situation on the ground.

Come rain, shine or storm they will have to get on with the restoration work. Some may not even be equipped with proper gear while on the job. It was a humble gesture of policemen joining in to clear trees on the roads.

Likewise, good-hearted citizens need to come forward the help to get Goa back on its feet. Let's not keep blaming departments, government and employees.

Let's join hands and put the past behind. Together we can.
