When Goans recently protested in front of the TCP minister's house demanding that section 39A be repealed, the CM said it is wrong, and that he is going to take strict action against people involved. Why didn't he show the same aggression and sense of purpose when the TCP facilitated land grab by arbitrarily changing green agricultural fields, orchards, water bodies and hill slopes to settlement zones using the patently illegal 39A. Was it not wrong to criminally give scarce land to real estate sharks for their projects, did he inform the people of the state before taking this step ? The government instead being a custodian of Goa's land is hand in glove with the builder's lobby which pays hefty bribes to the sarkar to allow it to plunder the state's jal, jungle and zameen. Pramod Sawant should first take action against the TCP officers and minister before going after Goans who are battling to protect their land. Please get your priorities right!
