On the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the Goa Football Association today, may every crazy football fan in Goa exult in the stupendous performances of the players who have wowed the crowds with their spectacular brand of football. From the mercurial southpaw with his weaving through the defence with resplendent swerves to the run down the flanks of the left and right outs, to the dour defending of our back line and the astounding saves by none other than the greatest goalkeeper that we have had, Goa has seen, is seeing and will see the very best football talent that brings ecstasy to our frenzied football fans. Today Goan teams have been the winners of all the trophies, the Rovers Cup,the Durand Cup, our own Bandodkar trophy, the national Santosh trophy, the IFL and now the ISL all of which Goa has won one time or the other thanks to the brilliant performances of our players. Every football administrator, coach, referee and of course the players in particular have to be feted on this glorious occasion. A time for a champagne toast to our football loving state.
