The Melauli villagers have reportedly decided to continue their fight against the IIT project and to save the precious land of their ancestors from government appointed land dealers/grabbers for the betterment of their future generations.
Unfortunately, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, after having failed miserably to break the unity of the protestors has now started to arrest them and treating them like dangerous tribal naxalites.
Of course, Sawant still says the villagers are free to have discussions by coming to meet him only in Panjim.
If Sawant can frequently attend a number of official rallies, visit houses during election time why can't he personally go to meet the Melauli villagers? Why can't he shift the project to some other place if the Melauli villagers do not want the said project in their village?
More power to the Melauli villagers and all other Goans who are currently fighting to safeguard the unique identity of this State.
