The Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu in his Legislator’s Day address has stated that the legislators must empower the people and not themselves. He also stated that the nation is the first priority, then the party and last the legislators themselves.
Was he not referring to the farm laws, the Mollem issue, the double-tracking and other projects that Goans are opposing?
The fact that he said that Goa must look beyond tourism and mining clearly showed he was against the NYE celebrations that were allowed to go on.
The permissions for the NYE celebrations were given by legislators who surely received huge paybacks.
The vice president has rightly said think of the nation first. That surely is an eye-opener.
