This refers to the picture on the front page, 'Caged at last' (TGE, Jan 6). The leopard spotted in various parts of Borim has finally been trapped. While some may see this as an achievement, a sense of sadness lingers. Trapping a leopard, likely due to its venturing into human territory, raises a critical question: why are wild animals, not just in Goa but in cities like Mumbai, roaming residential areas?
The answer is clear: human encroachment upon animal territory is the driving force. Can we not grant the wild the freedom to move within its own domain? Surely, humans and beasts can coexist without trespassing on each other's spaces.
