Trump jeopardising Indian students' interests

Recently, the US has cancelled the visas of many students without any notice.  The US Embassy in India has warned that if you drop out of your studies without informing the educational institution, if you do not attend classes or leave the study programme, your student visa can be cancelled and you may lose your eligibility for future US visas, the Trump administration says. A large number of Indian students take admission in American universities by paying fees worth lakhs of rupees. The US Consulate in India issued more than 1,40,000 student visas in 2023. This was more than any other country and this was the third consecutive year for Indian students to set a record in this regard. However, Trump's new restrictive policies are seen to be jeopardizing the academic and career prospects of Indian students in the US. Indian and other foreign students are worried that the US government is closing the OPT programme.This programme allows students to work in the US after completing their education. For now, there is an atmosphere of fear and confusion among students.
