Two sets of forest rules: One for people, another for forest officials

This is with reference to the hue and cry made by different NGOs opposing the amendment of land conversion. The amendment will help those private property owners having land less than 1000 sq metres and unable to build a house in own private property due to objections raised by Forest Department. The forest department has two set of rules one for people and one for the forest officials.

Inspite of bringing to the notice of Forest Department no action have been taken against forest officials who have built houses in eco sensitive zone in Collem, but the same forest officials harass people who want to build a house in their own private property. Moreover the forest and government land is given to forest dwellers using the short cut method through forest review committee and they can build a house in forest land. But people having private property are being harassed by the forest officials. The NGOs should know about the ground reality how the forest officials harass people, instead of bringing objections to the amendment of land conversion.
