It is really sad to see that few people are making unnecessary issues regarding the recent Konkani song ‘Goykarank shoot kelo’ sang by well-known composer bab Edwin D’Costa. The song pays tribute to the Goan youth from Chandor who was shot in the US. It has a loud and clear message to Goans and the Goa government. Looking at the online fight on social media, the video was shown to people from Culsabhatt ward, where the deceased youth’s mother stays, and throughout Chandor and Guirdolim, but not a single person raised any objection. Even the youth’s mother said she does not have any problem or issue with the song composed by Edwin. The song reflects what appeared in the newspapers and on international television. However, Edwin was shocked to see how some Goans were targeting him without any reason. People should not make a fuss over a song that projects reality and instead support the grieving mother. May the youth’s soul rest in peace.
